Avon has been in business since 1886, but started producing costume jewelry in
the early 1960s. Quality varies, but there are many well made, sought after
pieces, and these are featured in most costume jewelry books. Many designers
created jewelry for Avon, including Kenneth Lane, Elizabeth Taylor, Jose' Barrera,
and Nina .

Art Deco Revival Lucite Bar Pin
An amazingly simple jewel can often add just the right touch to convey your style. This bar pin offers large prong set faceted Lucite (or some other seamless acrylic) "stones," a clear emerald-cut focal stone flanked by two purple, and these are as purple as purple can be! Set in a smooth gold tone finding, this little pin looks like an expensive jewel. It is 1 7/8" tall x 1" wide, and is in Excellent condition. Signed (c)AVON. $12

Beautiful
1976 'Romanesque' AVON Silvertone Filigree Cross
An example of the best in Avon jewelry featured in several books, this pendant is one of the most popular and beloved pieces of Avon jewelry. My mother had one of these, and I have my own and wear it occasionally. Beautiful multi-colored glass navette cabs imitate different colors of gemstones--faux lapis, jade, turquoise and coral. The round center stone imitates hematite very effectively. The setting is a remarkable antiqued beaded filigree openwork which includes heart-shaped motifs. Well made with a good weight, the dimensions of the cross is 3" long x 2" wide, and is suspended from a textured 23 1/2" textured link chain with spring-ring clasp. Signed Avon in back. Avon Summer Lights Wide Multicolor Lucite Stretch Bangle Turn you summer outfits from plain to snazzy with this bangle. Nobody did thermoset like Avon. Once you've handled some of their older thermoset pieces, it's clear the quality is as high as Lisner and Kramer thermoset jewelry. Thick thermoset wave pieces are seamless Lucite with saturated color, some swirly. Separate white pieces are lodged between two by two arrangements in each bright color--true RED, banana yellow, royal blue and pure color- crayon green (which, for some strange reason, looks light blue inn the Side view scan). The bangle is 1 3/8" wide and heavy for it's size. If your wrist is small to medium, this one will fit perfectly. If you have a large wrist, this bangle won't fit you--yes it stretches, but it will squeeze like the dickens if you wear the wrong size.Excellent condition. This will arrive in the original box, but the box is in poor condition, so the price is no higher than it would be without the box. A bargain at $28.

Taylor for Avon Heart of Hollywood Demi Parure The fabulous Heart of Hollywood collection by Elizabeth Taylor for Avon is a 1994 creation. Page 30 of the book, Signed Beauties of Costume Jewelry Volume II by Martha "Sparkles" Brown, shows the earrings. We have for you a very large brooch with both art deco and retro design elements. The openwork heart is a burnished gold colored metal, smooth with a pearly swirly enamel, laden with faux pearls & glinting with white (clear) rhinestones. In the center is a lovely bluish faux opal. This is a BIG set. Dimensions of the brooch are 2 3/4" tall x 2 5/8" wide. Matching clip back earrings are approximately 1-1/2"x 1 1/2". All pieces are signed with E in fancy script surrounded by block letters ELIZABETH TAYLOR and AVON. Invest and enjoy in the legendary Elizabeth Taylor Heart of Hollywood Set. Excellent condition. $150.

Avon Juliet Cross Jade Green Thermoset Pendant Enjoy the elegant simplicity of this cross pendant with jade green thermoset insert in gold tone metal and crossed with gold tone chains. The gold tone reverse didn't scan well, but it glows so beautifully that you could actually wear the cross on the reverse side for a different look. Here's what the original Avon catalog ad said: A contemporary statement of a classic Gothic design, elegantly expressed in simulated jade in a gold toned frame. Wear it with anything or give as a gift of distinction. Chain, approx. 26" long.
