Bros Antique Sterling Silver Sash Pin For you today, a finely engraved sterling silver sash pin, so often worn by late Victorian and Edwardian ladies around the turn of the century. , The style was for loose clothing with cloth sashes; sometimes these large pins were used to pin a sash as a medieval style "girdle," a belt that hangs below the waist with lengths of ribbon or sash material flowing down. This one is marked both Sterling and 925 R + the Roden Bros. mark. This is a medium weight brooch about the thickness of a dime. Measurements are 2 3/4" x 2", and clasps with an open C-clasp. This antique jewel is in Very Good condition.One of Roden Bros. earliest pieces, a gorgeous sterling sash pin! $68 |

Limoges Hand Painted Porcelain Roses Floral Brooch It would be hard to find anotherLimoges brooch like this one, which is all enamel and hand painted, with no transfer. I have looked very closely, and even the green leaves have raised paints. The flower portrait, with a background of pink glazes and red scalloped border, appears to be a wild rose surrounded by multicolored daisies and forget-me-nots and raised white dots on all. The porcelain oval is bezel set into the standard 1940s brass twisted rope frame and fastened with a trombone clasp. The brooch is 2 1/4" tall x 1 3/4" wide. Although the shadows on the scans make it look like the tips of the petals are dark, they are not; they shine brightly.Very minor wear to the gold tone can be seen only under magnification. This genuine Mod mid-1960s flower power brooch is perfect to enhance a summer and fall flower girl look.These great brooches have now become classic. They are heavier than you might expect because they are enameled, which is basically ground glass, which has been made into a paint-like coating and fired so all the ground glass melts and adheres to the metal. Antique Hand-Painted Wild Roses Large Brooch~ Your old fashioned girl will treasure this exceptionally large and well-cared for example of American hand painted porcelain, which was popular for about 40 years from late Victorian era through the 1920s. And imagine how she will look wearing this belt brooch with a black silk sash to cinch her waist around her throat. The elongated oval porcelain is 2 3/4" tall and a bit less than 2" wide. On polychrome glazes of blended blues and faint yellows are three wild roses done in light and dark pinks with yellow & brown accents against foliage of several shades of green, with colors still bright and overglaze smooth and clean. The porcelain is prong set in a brass setting that still has some of it's gilding. Closes with an open C-clasp. Excellent condition. $65

H. Pomerantz Painted Porcelain Scene Brooch with Filigree and Emerald Green Rhinestone Pastes You can always count on high quality rhinestones in H. Pomerantz jewelry, and this large brooch is no exception; the high quality emerald green pastes seem to have the secret of eternal youth-- as dazzling as if they weren't 70 years old. The larger stones are unfoiled and prong set openback into the antique silver look beaded filigree dome shaped metal frame; the smaller chatons add small sparkles from tiny cups. The oval porcelain is prong set in a beaded setting. The scene is a transfer which is embellished with hand painted brown accents . At 3 1/4" tall and 2 3/8" wide the dome shaped brooch rises about 1/2" from the pinstem; it clasps with an early safety clasp that is quite secure. Signed in back H. Pomerantz Inc. N.Y. Rare Weiss Painted Enamel Egg Brooch In years of buying costume jewelry, I have seen only one other enameled egg by Weiss; it was pink and it was already sold. This is a rare pin, probably made in the late 1960's, just before Weiss closed its doors. Weiss made a some highly collectible enameled pieces during those years, some of which are now being counterfeited; real ones, except for some of the enameled flower power pins, are all fairly hard to find. This one does have a textured back; but the texture is different from the kind found on the counterfeits. The basic color is red, crossed on the diagonal with gold tone lines, making diamond motifs in which white flowers with green foliage are enameled. This unique brooch measures 2 1/4" tall x 1 1/2 wide" and stands 3/4" high from the surface. There is a small amount of wear to the enamel that can be seen with a loupe but nothing substantial.
