This icy beauty is built like an Eisenberg,
but is unsigned. Circa mid to late 1950s, this leaf offers pave veins, prong
set marquise cuts, and most unusual, a row of three prong set teardrops
rising upwards about 45%. The plating appears to be rhodium. This sparkling
jewel is 3" tall x 1 1/2" wide at the widest. In Excellent
condition, you will wear this brooch over and over, for it will go with just
about anything. $40
This incredible 3 1/3" x 4 1/8" brooch
offers a giant--1 1/2"--amber glass prong set stone The The
golden scrolling framework is gold-tone is decorated with five busy
rhinestone dangles, with bezel set navettes and small gold balls. It is very
likely this piece was hand made and the stones hand set; you can see
evidence in the frame for the giant amber stone and also in the bezels of
the dangling navettes. The front of the brooch retains the original gilt finish, while the back of the piece
shows minor finish wear. Signed POMERANTZ INC. N.Y. Very Good +++. $150
This vintage brooch is loaded with some of
the most brilliant AB Aurora Borealis rhinestone we've ever seen. Each row offers
a different color--the pong set navettes on top flash peacock colors, while
the inner rhinestone chain is pale green AB crystal with the outer a pink
& purple flasher. Perching on top of the floret is a coronet set blue
& yellow AB chaton, surrounded by a ring of regular crystals. Everything
is set in a curvy goldtone finding. Very Good condition, with minor
scratches seen only under magnification. This 2 7/8" brooch is a
super sparkling unsigned Juliana-style jewel! $45
Any yellow appearing in the rhinestones are simply
reflections from the gold tone setting. All the rhinestones are
brilliant. crystal clears.
For you today is a rare Har crystal pin--I think it's
Lily of the Valley, If so, the pin is turned upside down in our
images/ The heavy little flower heads of real Lilies of the Valley
droop. This graceful pin offers a variety of pave crystals and darling
small navettes studding a beaded gold tone setting. Signed (c)HAR in
back, this pin is 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" but seems a bit larger due to
the sassy curve. This exquisite jewel is in Very Good+ condition.. $75
Here is a pristine beauty of a Maltese Cross,
filled with invisibly set rhinestones in amethyst, light topaz, ruby and
emerald colors. The tiered golden cross setting offers both smooth and
textured surfaces, a winning combination. This 2" x 2" jewel is
signed in back (c)Napier in script. Excellent condition. $45
Any green on the gold is simply
what some scanners and cameras add to gold tones and washes; there
is no verdigris on this beautiful brooch!
We have for you this fabulous one stone wonder.
This large brooch represents true retro modern at it's purest. Retro modern
describes the styles not only most popular, but also most resourceful use of
material during WWII. With the US government calling in base metals for planes
and ships, costume jewelers turned to sterling which was plentiful. After
running out of European stones, the top jewelry houses began to use only one
stone or a few in jewelry, and finally turned to Brazil for large rhinestones,
thereby creating the one-stone wonder! The faceted sapphire glass in this brooch is
28mm square--that's nearly an inch, unfoiled and rises a full 5/8 from table to
culet! That's one big stone! Set in sterling with gold wash, the brooch is 3 1/2" tall and 2 5/8" wide, plus it's
plump with multiple ribbon curls, rising a full 1 1/8"
above the pin stem. This is a brooch that will make you feel as glamorous as
Joan Crawford during the 1940s. Marked sterling in back, the pin is in near-Excellent
condition with no noticeable gold wash loss and only minor wear in
back. $75
Probably 1940s. There are so many ways you can
wear this delightfully dazzling French brooch or sash pin--from a raggedy
jean jacket to evening wear, bags, hats. It will hold a scarf securely and
attractively. This heavy, well made gold plated piece offers 15mm oval
prong set high lead content foiled rhinestones, with a larger, fatter
shaped oval in the center. The back is fastened with a pull-pin trombone
clasp; probably safer than any clasp ever made! The pin is 2 1/4"
wide x 1 3/4: wide. It is in Very Good condition, with minor peppering or
wear in some of the stones, none of which seems to effect the look or
flashing brilliance of this beauty. The mark FRANCE can be found on the
ledge that holds the trombone end of the clasp. Enjoy for $48
This exceptional floral brooch has the quality you can expect from a top jewelry house of the 1930s, yet is unsigned. The brooch is beautifully designed and constructed, with a riveted, layered
silvery pot meal setting featuring six large (7/8") faceted unfoiled blue glass ovals
prong- set openback, centered with a floret of pave crystal rhinestones. The beauty of these stones is overwhelming--the
color of the oval stones are a true sapphire blue. The leaves are
textured and enameled green. At 4 1/4" tall and 2 3/4" wide, this is a
big heavy brooch. It will definitely weigh down a light fabric, so pin it into a bra strap or slip if you wear it with a light blouse or dress. Otherwise, this is what they used to call a "coat brooch," because women wore them on their coats or jackets. But you could use it to pin together that stylish sash, or to decorate your bag. With this brooch and your smile, you'll feel like a million dollars. Very Good
condition, with wear to high points on the enamel. $85
A favorite pin by Sarah Coventry back from 1975 is Autumn Splendor, but
with that heart melting marbled dark pink color, this jewel must be springtime
and summer splendor as well. Guaranteed to brighten any complexion,
and what could be better than the dash of happy color it brings when you
wear it. This is a nice 1/8 thick slab of thermoset set in smooth,
faultless goldtone, 2 7/8" tall and 1 1/2" wide. This is a book
piece brooch, featured on page 151 of Mid-Century Plastic Jewelry,
by Susan Klein. The earrings are hard to find; I promise to be on the
lookout for them. Meantime, enjoy the brooch in Excellent condition.
$28
This rare & captivating brooch conveys the innocent yet alluring,
modest yet fun -loving spirit of the late 1940s and early 1950s. The most elegant things to wear are often
those most simple, and this dear piece is no exception. Each side of the bow
is a 1 1/4" thick keystone shaped unfoiled pink faceted glass, each prong set in
gold-filed wire and separated by gold filled ribbon curls. There is not a
single chip in the irreplaceable glass stones and the gold finish has very little fading.
Marked in back:"1/20 12K" on the reverse, the brooch is just over 3" wide
and is in is in Very Good condition. $88
Circa 1930, beautifully hand carved from shell.
The lady has her eyes cast down in a demure manor, as if she were somewhat
modest about her beauty. Note the lines in her hairstyle, the drapes in her
gown and the lovely flowers in her hair and at her shoulder. She sits in an ornate gold washed frame; there our no
markings but our tests revealed the frame is 800 silver. The frame is light
and lacy with beading, loops, fans and leaves. Images have been enlarged for
clarity; she's only 1 1/4" tall x 7/8" wide and equipped with an
early safety clasp. . Very Good condition, with minor wear to the finish on
the tips of the prongs, which can be seen only with a loupe. $78
The rectangle stones are dark
sapphire blue, but in some lights they do look slightly purple.
This grand old beribboned fan brooch
is guaranteed to make you feel like Scarlet O'Hara. The a large, showy piece is
gilded pot metal, open and lined with unfoiled sapphire blue glass octagons,
prong set openback, alternating with sparkling diamante and separated by blue
enamel fleur de lis. This 3 3/8" wide brooch is almost 3" tall as
well; that covers a lot of area. Applied flowers enameled in two shades of blue
are centered with more clear rhinestones further adorn the fan, as well as a
flowing ribbon bow over the handle. Condition is Very Good, with some wear on
the enamel and the gilding, mainly on raised areas, adding vintage character to
this lovely piece. The blue rectangles are excellent; the small diamante stones
still sparkle like the dickens. Be sure to look at the back to see how sturdily
this piece is riveted together. Overall, a well made, lovely, extremely scarce
old beauty. $125
Adding to a vision of sumptuousness is this splendid
dark red aurora borealis crystals brooch. A mix of crystal shapes and sizes is
what gives this stylish brooch it's edge, with big and small round crystals
of deep burgundy red that flash purple and blue green peacock colors!
They are accented around the edges by thin crystal AB lentil beads . Each
crystal is expertly wired into the gold tone base with brass headpins. The
2" brooch rises 3/4" from the pin stem and is in Excellent condition.
Enjoy this breathtaking beauty! $35
Let a fabulous fantasy angelfish keep time for you as work
through your busy day, dreaming of a vacation in Bermuda. This guy is gorgeous
with green and yellow-orange paint in stripes across his body and flowing into
his textured tail fins, alongside bright pave crystal rhinestones. When you
consult him for the time, he'll wink at you with his rhinestone eye. His golden
comb like fin is decorated with crystal Aurora Borealis AB rectangle rhinestones
