Boucher Sterling Vermeil Brooch with Plump Purple Rhinestones This sterling beauty will not only add a dash of color and retro dash to your look, but is also a great investment--why not spend your money and have it too? This dynamic 2 1/2" tall x 1 1/2" wide bouquet brooch is loaded with plump purple unfoiled rhinestones, prong set openback on a quality sterling, gold wash setting. This graceful jewel was made during the mid 1940's. The brooch is marked (very faintly) with MB and the Phrygian Cap on a small area behind the lowest reaching ribbon curl. Above that mark, separately but on the same ribbon curl is the mark STERLING. I could find no design number. Rated Very Good for wear of the gold wash in the usual raised places most subject to careful polishing for 70 years. Enjoy for $125 |

Fabulous
late 1940's Retro Sapphire Rhinestone Floral
Brooch
The bare wartime sterling jewelry known as retro modern did not suddenly stop as soon as the WWII. The style continued into the late 1940's and early 1950's, but evolved, now that plump helpings of base metal and plenty of European rhinestones were available again. Here we have a classic example of this evolved style. The exciting two-layer sunburst floral design is centered with a sparkling chaton floret in golden petals, surrounded by spokes of brilliant unfoiled sapphire blue rhinestone baguettes, each set openback with a single prong folded over the top. The metal has some silver content; the finish is gold tone. Notice the classic lattice design in the leaves. This one is a high quality keeper, an obvious designer jewel left unsigned. But the design itself couldn't be more classic for the era. Wild & curvaceous lines combined with elements of Art Deco geometric motifs, the brooch is 2 7/8" tall x 2" wide. Very good condition, with wear to the finish on the prongs and minor wear in back. $58

Sterling Vermeil Retro Modern Floral Brooch with Ruby Red & Pink Stones Designed with drama in mind, prepare to be noticed when you wear this fabulous Retro sterling silver beauty. The prong set oval stones are rich ruby red, and at the stem, a single pink stone. The ruby reds are unfoiled but I can't tell with the pink, it's not set high enough in the cup. This pin measures 3 1/8" tall x 1 7/8" wide, and will look utterly glamorous on a coat lapel or blouse. Marked Sterling on the round plaque on the reverse, along with 1/20 12K GF. There's also a little cross symbol next to the g on Sterling, which may be a hallmark. This brooch is in Excellent condition with no significant wear in the vermeil finish. $48 |

you can see on the upper branch near the flower petals. We have since restored
the rhinestone to it's proper place

1930's Double Cala Lily Rhinestone Brooch Here's an finely designed beauty that your Grandmother or Great Grandmother might have had in her jewel box. Each Cala Lily embraces a black round ball as pistel; the stem is flanked with pave crystal rhinestones with a graceful black enameled leaf stalk and black & goldtone leaf. Also, from the same stem grows a golden frond decorated with multicolor rhinestones, so popular during the '30s and early 1940s! This brooch is heavy! Wear it on a coat, jacket, blazer or some other stiff material. Condition is just very good, with brilliant rhinestones and intact enamel, but wear of the gold tone on the prominent petals dipping under the stones on both sides. However this wear is even and just where you would expect it to be, thereby giving the brooch a wonderful vintage look. The brooch is 2 1/2" tall x 2 3/4" wide. $68
