Unique Charel Amber Glass & Rhinestone Cockatoo Pin This dignified guy looks like he's donned his spiffiest threads, and now he's perched jauntily, ready to flirt with all your friends! He's done in textured gold tone metal, but two of his curved feathers are silvertone, set with exceedingly sparkly pave rhinestones. His middle is a prong set 3/4" oval glass cab, unfoiled and set openback. Look at him wink his red rhinestone eye. How neatly combed are the curls on top of his head--what a dandy! At 2 7/8" tall, he's slender; about 7/8" wide at the widest point, and he knows very well he's in Excellent condition! $42 |

Austrian
Autumn Floral Spray with Topaz, Peridot and Aurora Borealis Rhinestones
You'll fall in love with this shimmering special from Austria. The stones are in lighter fall colors, light topaz, light peridot chatons and champagne teadrops colors along with different colors of AB specialty stones, flashing rosy fire from the very interior with cooler green & topaz two-tone auroras flanking. You'll not find such a design elsewhere, with the look of many layers, swoops and swirls of blooming vines going gold in the long days of sunlight! You'll want to evoke the harvest Goddess and wear this the rest of the summer and all through fall. The 3 1/8" tall x 2 1/8" wide brooch is larger than the average, and is marked "Made Austria" on an oval plate in back. The prong set stones and golden plating are all in Excellent condition. $48 |

Unsigned Little Nemo Big Floral Rectangle Brooch A lacy beaded filigree brooch from Grandmother's days will be a treasure to keep for posterity. Circa 1930, these Little Nemo brooch pins are the epitome of pot metal costume jewelry. The beaded filigree setting houses pink, blue, dark citrine and green rhinestones, tiny and still sparkling. The flowers, petals, leaves and curing stem form a sweeping design. The pin locks with a safety clasp. You can turn this unique jewel lengthwise and wear it as a sash pin. Somehow this brooch escaped being signed, but I've seen the same one signed with the L/N, one of the signatures for Little Nemo. Very Good condition. $58 |

Wondrous Hand
Colored Yellow Pansy Brooch in Ornate Floral Setting At first I thought this porcelain pansy was all transfer, but looking closely with a 10x loupe, one can see that this is definitely hand painted; it is possible this is what is called a hand-colored transfer. This is completely hand colored rather than limited to portions of of paint over a colored transfer, as in the Limoges porcelains. I would guess this is a Victorian revival piece from 1930-1950's. This beauty offers matte gold outlined in black against bright yellow; it is absolutely endearing, and would make a wonderful Valentines or Mothers day gift. The 1 5/8" oval porcelain is set within a layered ornate gold tone scrollwork, the upper part of the stamped floral and filigree setting partially overlaying the porcelain. Total dimensions are 2 1/2" wide x 2" tall. Condition is Very Good +, with minor signs of wear in back. $68

Scarce Coro Black
Glass Cameo Brooch Coro made a enough cameo jewelry to make Coro cameos a collecting field in itself. This one is an unusual, scarce find. The black cameo is molded matte glass applied to a thick, shining glass oval. The exquisite lady has flowers and leaves in her wavy bobbed hair, and she wears a draping gown. She seems to be looking far away, with a mysterious smile on her face as enigmatic as Mona Lisa. The cameo is applied to a shiny, thick jet glass oval held in a saw-tooth edged bezel. The frame is beaded and decorated with stamped flowers. The brooch is a good size at 2 1/8" tall by 1 3/4" wide and 3/8" thick. Signed Coro in script without copyright mark. This beautiful Coro black cameo jewel is in Excellent condition. $58 |

Late
Victorian Asian Motif Sash Pin This scarce and uniquely styled sash brooch is just the right gift for the woman who loves the exotic but seems to have everything! Hammered brass plates offer bezeled blue Bohemian glass tilted squares and applied Japanese symbols. Japanese motifs were popular from the mid 19th century through the Art Nouveau period, but I think this is an unusual combination. This is a quality brooch, 3 5/8" wide x 2 1/4" tall with a good heft. Excellent condition. $90 See More SASH PINS |

1930's Brass Filigree & Coral Celluloid Roses Brooch Only roses will do as the perfect gift for her--or better yet, for yourself. You'll look and feel ravishingly feminine when you wear this pretty jewel. This delicate- looking brooch has the weight of quality costume jewelry, and no wonder--two brass openwork stampings are riveted together. The back holds a sturdy safety clasp, and the front blooms with celluloid coral roses and cabs. Applied leaves seem to protect the central rose in an array of lacy charm. Dimensions are 2 3/4" long and 1 3/4" wide at the center. Very good condition. Enjoy for $45 |

Harry Iskin
Plump Leaf Frond Sterling Bouquet Brooch This classic Iskin has been produced in so many ways during the 1940s. This one is sterling vermeil with a slightly green/gold wash. An 8-petaled flower with a golden bead center surrounded by huge curled leaf fronds and ribbons that whirl like propellers, a motif often found in wartime retro jewelry. Dimensions are 3 1/4" tall x 2 3/4" wide, large enough to make a statement on one of those new military style jackets. Marked HI sterling, I find very little wear on the yellow/green gold wash. Back still has bits of tarnish. Excellent. $58

Antique Victorian
Large Shell Cameo of Dionysus Circa 1880. This antique shell cameo depicts the Greek God Dionysus, also known to the Romans as Bacchus, the God of wine and fertility. This one is large and nicely carved, with good detail and no cracks or chips. The color of the relief carving is pale ivory on a background of pale carnelian. The cameo and bezel is prong set from the back within a gilded, etched and decorated base metal frame. One of these prongs has been replaced. The C-clasp & tube hinge work perfectly. Dimensions of the brooch in setting, are 2" tall x 1 5/8" wide. There is moderate finish loss on setting in back; it's actually not as glaring as the scan seems to depict. A beautiful antique genuine shell cameo brooch, in Very Good, clean condition. $225. |
