Wide Art Deco Clear Rhinestone Dress Clip Vintage 1930's, a bit different and certainly flashy, this Art Deco dress clip offers an attractive criss-cross openwork pattern with an extra layer "folded over" the top adding an openwork fleur de lis. The rhodium plated setting is lovely, smooth and shining. Very well taken care of, the pastes on this beauty still glitter like diamonds. Measuring 2 1/2" wide and 1 3/8" tall, the silvertone clip mechanism is nice and tight. Very good+, clean condition. $45

Very Scarce Vintage Retro Dress Clip by Ernest Steiner This early 1940's ribbon spray is unsigned, but has the design patent number 105034 located inside one of the ribbon loops. A lookup of this Ernest Steiner patent shows that this clip, designed by Ernest Steiner (Steiner of New York) is a variation of the design in the drawing, with the same ribbon but teardrop rhinestones on the ends of the spray rather than round stones. Variations on patents were common with many designers, including Trifari and Coro. This clip is unusual and beautifully designed with the multicolor teardrop stones prong set set openback. The metal tested as having some silver content, and the golden finish is a gold tone alloy. It measures 2 1/2" by 1 1/2". Condition is Very Good ++, with wear of finish only on the textured clip mechanism. An elegant, rare clip to add to your collection. $85

Enamel Happy Horse Vintage Fur Clip
Circa mid 1930s to late 1940s, a stylized horse pawing the grass strewn with flowers. He has sort of a Trojan Horse look to him, doesn't he with that fancy tail and red checked mane? Perhaps stallion is the one you always wanted when you were 13. In purple, yellow, red and green enamel on a white metal fitting is in top condition vintage. Upon magnification I found no evidence that the enamel has ever been retouched or restored. There's a nick you can see in the photo on his upper right leg right under the nose. Is he about to give a snort? --And a few chips too tiny to be noticed. Everyone who sees you in this fun but seriously collectible vintage jewel will smile--this will be a great conversation piece. Measurements are 2" x 1 7/8" The double pronged clip on the back is nice and tight; overall condition is rated Very Good+. $68 |

Enameled Dress Clip Foliage and Flowers with Shoebutton Centers SOLD This dear and delightful clip from the 1930's could have been sparkling inside your grandma's jewelry box. She would have worn it for special occasions and on springtime Sundays. You'd wear it differently now, to clip to a blue jeans pocket, to your jacket, purse, or in your hair for a feminine and nostalgic touch. A layer of flowers centered with fluted glass cabs, each with rhinestone headpins in the "shoebutton" style, grace the circles of beaded sunburst gold tone rays within each flower head. The flowers are riveted onto a quality silvertone openwork clip base of winding vines and tendrils. Enamels are pink, lavender, blue, with light green leaves. The gold tone clip is has a small blemish spot on the back, but the spring is firm. The enamel is in unusually nice condition, with only the most minor wear that you need a loupe to see. Measurements are 2 1/2" tall and 1 3/4" wide. Overall Very Good. |

Prong set jet glass marquise cuts are surrounded by sparkling crystal chatons, set into a golden plated barrette setting. Marked "Made in France." Measurements are 3 5/8" wide x 1". Rare H. Pomerantz Antique Celtic Knight Belt & Buckle Circa 1890s. A very unusual find intact. I have seen a photo of another H. Pomerantz warrior buckle--a Samurai. Perhaps H. Pomerantz made an entire line of warrior belts. If so, it would be quite a challenge to collect them all. The 3" x 2" buckle is of shining silvertone and gilded openwork stamped with clovers, vines, & various textures. There are also applied metal embellishments, including the centerpiece bearded Celtic knight, his armor designed in a convex cross shape. He rises about 1/2" high; at first I thought it might open, locket style, but there are no hinges. The belt itself is made of a remarkable gold tone flexible tank-track style engraved linkage, about 1 inch wide. The belt clasps at 28-30." The buckle can be removed of course, to add to another belt if desired. Belt and buckle are both in Very Good condition; there's a bit minor wear on the gilding showing through silvertone.
