D'Orlan Since 1960 this Canadian company has been headed by Sandra Boucher, The company offers high quality costume jewelry. Some of the pieces are Marcel Boucher's designs, many with design numbers similar to those used by Boucher.

Deauville In business since 1850, Deauville (J.R. Woods & Sons) changed to Art Carved in 1970.

Dodds, 11 W. 30 Street & Jewel Creations. Dodds, signed with the "S" backward. There is evidence that 11 W. 30 Street is another signature for Dodds. The company offered many beautiful revival style jewels as well as figural & holiday jewelry, and is highly collectible. Jewel Creations jewelry is made by the same company. Jewel Creations jewels are all unsigned, but many pieces are the same jewels seen signed Dodds and 11 W. 30 Street. Another way you can identify them is through catalogs they used to publish. Dodd's Rhinestone Modernist Brooch

For something colorful but also different, this Dodds' modernist style brooch may be what you are looking for. The primitive leaf shape is done in a light golden metal that looks hammered. An openwork network of rhinestones blink from their hand set cupped settings-- a fuchsia square, pink teardrop and chatons as well as olivine and amethyst rhinestones. A lovely 2 1/4" x 2 1/8" pin signed DODDS(c) with the backward S, in Excellent condition. $28

Unsigned, but you can see an example of these butterfly brooches in an old jewelry creations catalog here. These were put out by the same company as Dodds and 11 W. 30th St, but sent out to crafters to set their own stones. Bright blue and green pave rhinestones in a golden finding adorn this distinctive butterfly with scalloped wings and red rhinestone eyes. With a wingspan of 2" wide, this lovely jewel is in Excellent condition. $24

Vintage Emmons AUTUMN HAZE Amber and Green Jelly Maltese Cross Pin

Here's a pretty little Maltese Cross brooch, very popular in the late 1950s and 1960's. Signed Emmons, the cross displays simulated amber cabochons. The inner part is an arrangement of faux pearls centered with a pine green jelly cabochon. Probably the plastic cabs are Lucite; I can find no evidence of seams. The cabs are unfoiled and set openback in a textured light gold tone finding. This delightful jewel, perfect for redheads, measures 1 1/2" on all sides and is in Very Good condition, with a bit of wear on a small portion of golden finish in back.  $28

Crystals Detail

We have for you a high quality designer signed double strand black crystal necklace. The graduating jet crystals are very sparkly. The textured gold tone chunky 2" clasp offers tiered scallops each centered with tiny black rhinestones, possibly a stylized pine cone or other seed pod. The design is unusual with the shorter stand having larger crystals, up to 18mm. The second, longer strand is 28", five inches longer than the first. Total clasping length is 25". Added are a fabulous pair 2 1/8" jet glass crystal earrings with big drops dangling from marquise cuts. The unsigned clip on earrings are set with smart gold tone findings that match the necklace clasps beautifully. The necklace is signed Flora on a plate beneath the clasp. All pieces are Excellent. $68

FRANÇOIS is a seldom seen high end Coro mark. François is a line of jewelry that began in 1938 and continued until at least 1961, possibly later. Although collectors often think of Vendome as Coro's couturier line, François was one Coro's earliest couturier lines along with Coro Craft. François jewels were sold only in the jewelry cases of the finest stores. This information is from Coro Jewelry: a Collector's Guide by Marcia "Sparkles" Brown.

France  France imported many  jewels following WWII. All the imports are marked FRANCE.

Probably 1940s.  There are so many ways you can wear this delightfully dazzling French brooch or sash pin--from a raggedy jean jacket to evening wear, bags, hats. It will hold a scarf securely and attractively. This heavy, well made gold plated piece offers 15mm oval prong set high lead content foiled rhinestones, with a larger, fatter shaped oval in the center. The back is fastened with a pull-pin trombone clasp; probably safer than any clasp ever made! The pin is 2 1/4" wide x 1 3/4: wide. It is in Very Good condition, with minor peppering or wear in some of the stones, none of which seems to effect the look or flashing brilliance of this beauty. The mark FRANCE can be found on the ledge that holds the trombone end of the clasp. Enjoy for $48
