Accessocraft Black Rose Brooch and Earrings Set

Circa 1955. This jet black  hard seamless plastic Rose has a deeply carved look, though surely it is molded. The black rose is attached to a textured gold tone stem and leaves base to make romantic magic! Wear it for a Goth look, or to black lace for an ultra femme touch. The 3 1/2" brooch is light enough for the finest fabrics but well made enough for a jacket or blazer. The matching clip on earrings are 7/8". Here's a pretty piece by Accessocraft, a band of golden mesh that dips into a slight V-shape to fit just above your collarbone or high on your neck. The mesh is centered with a lovely floral filigree centerpiece, and the end pieces are finished off in floral filigree as well. Gold does great things for most complexions, which makes the color popular for jewelry. The mesh band is 1" wide, The centerpiece 2 1/4" x 1 1/2". The hangtag is signed ACCESSOCRAFT PAT. PEND. N.Y.C. Hailing from Accessocraft is this well designed Maltese cross from the 1960s. Four chunky dark red cabs (I'm fairly sure they are glass) with black veins highlight each side of the brooch along with loops of goldtone rope chain accented by faux pearls. In the center is the British coat of arms complete with French words Diu et mon droit, or, the God at my right. Also shown is the motto for the Order of the Royal Garter, Honi soit qui mal y pense, which means evil to him who evil thinks.

Dimensions are 2 3/8" on all sides, and the brooch stands about 3/4" from the pinstem. You can also wear this striking jewel as a pendant by adding a chain and jump ring to one of the loops. Signed in back ACCESSOCRAFT. Excellent condition. $48

AJC  is the mark of American Jewelry and Chain company, which was in business from  1927 to 1997. Even their well-known 1990's figural pieces are very well made. Also, it appears many pieces were made in small quantities..

Lively AJC Musical Christmas Tree Pin

For you or your lucky loved one is this very special Christmas Tree pin. The metal is golden covered with bulging drops of pure Christmas green glitter! But that's not all. Turn the tree over and press the tab in the center of the round white plastic button. The tree will  play a medley of digital Holiday tunes,  including Jingle Bells, Santa Clause is Coming to Town  and We Wish you a Merry Christmas.  In back, the lower left corner the brooch is signed (c)AJC  for American Jewelry and Chain company, which was in business from 1927 to 1997. This is a piece I have never seen before. The tree is 3" tall, 1 7/8" wide and heavy for it's size. Excellent condition.  A lively musical Merry Christmas tree pin! $18

You have to admire not only the sparkle & flash of Austrian rhinestones but also the construction of their jewelry, both exampled in this radiant piece. Blue Aurora Borealis rhinestone navettes, chatons & teardrops in assorted sizes will dress up that favorite evening outfit. The stones radiate blue, peacock, pinks & purples, all prong set on a dome of rhodium plated wires, tiered one round on another, like a wedding cake. The brooch is  2 3/8" in diameter and rises about 3/4" from the surface. A lovely piece in Very Good condition, with a scratch in the AB finish in the center. This brooch is as gorgeous as a spring evening. Dark and medium sapphire chatons, baguettes and a single teardrop surround aurora borealis crystals as pale green as young foliage with spark of gold, pink, purple and blue from the shining silvertone finish. Festive Rhinestone Star Set by B. David

Some of the prettiest jewels come in small packages, and that is often true for the sparkling designs of B. David. This little set consists of a 7/8" star pin and 5/8" matching set of earrings. All these pieces are signed, B. David. All the rhinestones are prong set in rhodium plated fittings. The 5/8" clip on earrings have decorative etching on the back of the clips. A larger, 1 1/8" unsigned pin has been added; it is only 1 18/", but the amount of sparkle in the rainbow of rhinestones you get multiplies over and over! Everything is in Excellent condition. Barclay ~ Barclay jewels were manufactured for only a few years between 1946-1957. Because of this short window of time, the jewelry usually reflects post war retro designs. The jewelry is high quality and still under priced.

The bows of the '50s are famous, and this bracelet of bows by Barclay is right on has everything that says 1950s. Thick, gold tone openwork bows linked together to curve nicely around the wrist, complete with a safety chain and decorated with clear pave crystal rhinestone sapphire blue navette rhinestones. The bracelet is 5/8" wide, clasps with a foldover at 7". It is s just adorable. It is in signed Barclay in script on the clasp and is in Excellent condition, with brilliant rhinestones and intact finish. $55

Barclay Springtime Pastels Rhinestone Ring

This big ring glistens with pastel blue, green and purple rhinestones in several cuts, all prong set in an ornate antiqued goldtone frame. This ring will match with other popular Barclay jewels, for instance; the bracelet below. Barclay made a whole line of jewels in these colors, and it's fun to collect them all. The oblong jeweled front of the ring is 1 1/8" tall. The ring is adjustable, and is adjusted to size 7 1/2 right now, but if you need a different size a jeweler will adjust this for a small fee. This cool jewel is signed Barclay in script on the inside. Very Good condition, with sparkling clear stones and only the most minor wear on the gilding at the top margin inside back. $55

Beaujewels Bowman & Foster went out of business in the 1970's, but their jewels often still beautiful. The ones I have seen are made with riveted backings. Riveted backings do NOT mean lesser quality; they were made that way for less total weight, making it possible for jewelry to be constructed in many layers full of gorgeous rhinestones to be worn on light fabrics without drooping. This kind of construction is NOT unique--many costume jewelers used it, particularly during the late 1940's and 1950's including Weiss, Coro, and Judy Lee. Don't accept an unsigned brooch as Beaujewels unless you have seen the signed earrings.

I'll bet there's a big, gorgeous brooch out there waiting for these earrings, but you can wear them alone for occasions from Saturday morning in T-shirt & jeans to an evening with him. The mix of medium topaz navettes in golden dog tooth & prong settings is tantalizing. Accented with topaz Aurora Borealis chatons flashing the colors of fire & reflections from the environment, you have a winning jewel. Great for autumn and redheads! Bell Sterling From Bell Trading Post came lasting sterling and copper jewelry. From 1932 through 1980s.

Berebi, Edgar~ A master of epoxy enamel jewelry, beginning for about 1980 to the late 1990's. Since then he has concentrated his artistic drive in other areas and has not created any more jewelry lines. In my opinion, Berebii jewelry is still inexpensive enough to be a great investment for those who love to spend their money and have it, too!

Bigney & Co.~ In business from 1896 through 1946.

Bogoff~ 1946 to 1970. Made high quality jewelry, mainly rhinestone sets, but this designer also used pearls, beads, and metals. This is a scarce, highly sought after signature.

Absolutely stunning! This sparkling Bogoff necklace and earring demi parure offers 3/4" flowers filled with aurora borealis crystal chatons that flash from goldtone beaded settings. Colors are mainly blue, pink and yellow, along with glints of the rest of the rainbow, depending on the light, and they are glorious, though very hard to capture in the scans. Both detail views are the most accurate. The necklace clasps with a J hook to a maximum of 19" but can be adjusted to choker size if desired. Matching clip on earrings are 1-1/4". The jewels are Excellent, pristine condition with vibrant stones and no finish wear. A beautiful Bogoff pastel rhinestone necklace set! $165

Bonetto This company made beautiful ladies' hinged bangle watches, rhinestone watches and watch pins during the 1970s and 1980s as well as collectible clocks. Some of their jewels are marked Bonetto, some Bonetto Digits, and some, probably later, simply Digits. Many of these, particularly the ladies, appear to have been put together by hand. Bonetto Digits today is producing watch rings, so these lovely collectible clocks and watches of the '70's and 1980's are long gone, unless you get lucky.

This guy is gorgeous with green and yellow-orange paint in stripes across his body and flowing into his textured tail fins, alongside bright pave crystal rhinestones. When you consult him for the time, he'll wink at you with his rhinestone eye. His golden comb like fin is decorated with crystal Aurora Borealis AB rectangle rhinestones flashing rainbow colors of blue, pink and green. Dimensions are

Vintage BSK BIG Amber Stone Clover Brooch

Beautiful offering from B.S.K., a one stone wonder, with a 1 1/2" amber unfoiled faceted glass stone prong set in a gold tone openwork clover. The golden metal has a brushed finish except around the curvy edges, where the metal is polished. Entire measurement is 2 1/2" x 2 1/4, rising about 3/4" from the pinstem. Wonderful! BSK, like Coro, made costume jewelry of varying quality, and this brooch is among their highest quality jewels. Signed (c)BSK on applied rectangle in back. Excellent condition. $35

Screw on earrings. These delightful orchid earrings have two layers, a base of brushed goldtone and a ruffly polished goldtone wire overlay. Prongs hold a bright purple rhinestones. Earrings are 1 1/8" x 7/8" and are in Very Good condition, with very little wear. Marked B.N. on screw ends. $22

Capri According to Martha (Sparkles) Brown, the Hickok Manufacturing Company, in business since 1922, introduced the Capri line in 1950. It closed in 1980. Meantime, Capri acquired the DeNicola archives in 1960, and these DiNicola designs helped build the Capri name in costume jewelry.

What a poodle!  This grand dam of show poodles, in beautifully crafted jewelers pewter, sports a deluge of openwork flowers for curls! And what a sweet pose she strikes; there is elegant character all about her; even her face. Dimensions are a three dimensional 2" x 2"; she hangs from a 24" chain. No signature, but an obvious designer piece, probably designed in the 1960s or '70s and marketed with a hang tag. A wonderful jewel in Excellent condition. $48

Signed Capri Black Glass Flower Brooch

You'll love this 1960s black flower power brooch. Each black beveled glass petal shaped stone measures 7/8" long. The five unfoiled petals are set in slender ropes of golden metal and form the slightly concave lower layer of this well made, gleaming jet black jewel. A faceted round jet black rhinestones sits in a bezel on top. The brooch has a good heft. It measures 2" on all sides, is signed Capri (no (c) mark) in script on the back, and is in Excellent condition. $28

Warm Cathe Guilloche Enamel Brooch & Earrings Set

Here's an unusual treat--a pretty vintage Victorian Revival Cathe demi--starting with a brooch of sunny yellow guilloche enamel with a cluster of faux pearls arranged as a floweret in a gold tone serrated cup. In the gold tone openwork surrounding, a sprinkling of light spring green rhinestones and little faux pearls. The earrings repeat the pattern with one faux pearl in each center. . The set is well constructed and is obviously one of their higher end sets. The brooch is 2" in diameter and offers a pendant loop in back as well as a pin stem; the clip-on earrings are 1". All pieces are signed Cathe. These jewels are in Excellent condition; I could not find a single spot of wear in the finish of the golden metal or the pearls, and the rhinestones are present and bright. Enjoy this beauty! $62

Cathe Art Glass Big Starfish Brooch Pendant

What a stylish starfish this is, perfect for summer at the beach or by the pool. Cathe is a hard to find signature, but those featuring fabulous art glass are the best! This one is crowded with glass cabs with streaks and clouds of mixed colors including, on each cab, bright icings of gold. The starfish "feet" point this way and that, invoking the fun and leisure of summer's days. Even the gold tone setting sparkles with texture, golden beads, and aurora borealis rhinestones. The 2 1/2" pendant comes on a 17 1/2" chain, but it also has a pin mechanism so you can remove the chain and wear as a brooch. Signed Cathe in an oblong plaque, there is a little sunshine symbol as part of the signature; perhaps this pendant/brooch is from a special summer line. Excellent condition. $48

Clip-ons. Dramatically claw-set art glass features deep swirling colors of pink, rose, and lavender along with a muted translucence coming from within. These precious delights are 1" tall, and in Very Good+ condition, with mild spotting of the finish in back, which can be seen only with a 5x loupe. The metal is goldtone that has aged to a warm glow. Circa 1960. Here's a brooch from the Caviness line of sterling figurals. The filigree butterfly is a bit heavier than you might expect; it's a very well made piece signed ALICE CAVINESS and STERLING GERMANY. The lacy filigree is brilliant; the enamel dabs of sparkling green and blue color the body; plus more green and blue along with yellow and apricot dot the wings. Looking with a 5x loupe I can see a bit of missing enamel from the blue-green dot on the mid-upper right wing. All the rest of the enamel is intact and the pin in overall excellent condition. Measuring 2" wide x 1" tall, this rare, highly collectible piece can soon be yours! $58

This is a very small jewel, intended to add just a touch of traditional, conservative loveliness to any look from lace peignoirs to blue jeans and shirt. Though it seems delicate, it is not, but rather sturdy and well made. The delightful slender golden hand holds a flower made from a small guilloche pink and green rose against a white background Two faux pearls flank for accent. The pin is only 1 3/8" tall and 1" wide, but is in top collectible condition, with no wear on the gold tone finish and the pearls and guilloche intact. Marked ALICE CAVINESS on oval in back. $48

These clip on earrings match a beautiful necklace that we hope to find some day--or maybe you have it! Even without it, the earrings stand alone as an example of 1950's bright beaded styles. The blue beads are ceramic and decorated with dimpled gold & silver indentations; the faceted white beads are plastic all wired to a double goldtone filigree. One of Celebrity's better pieces, made by Delizza & Elster. This ethnic revival link bracelet offers colorful and exotic molded glass enameled cabochons in each setting. This type of art glass is called "Moroccan Matrix," Feels cool and heavy on the wrist. This jewel is 1" wide and clasps with the large foldover at 7 1/2," roomy enough for a medium to med/large wrist. Celebrity Moroccan Matrix Necklace and Drop Earrings Set by D&E

A demi made by Delizza & Elster for Celebrity. These are the mates to the bracelet above; we don't separate sets, but this demi came to me more recently. The red, white and black colors of the molded glass matrix cabs pick up the single red, white & black cab in the bracelet. These wear very nicely, with the pendant in textured goldtone openwork and a double chain, the earrings are sassy little danglers. This is a great seduction set; it looks like something nice girls wear, but the pendant will draw eyes to décolletage, and the earrings will dangle and dance so maddeningly he'll want to nibble at your ears! Please note that there is no pendant bail; the chain is attached directly to the necklace, so you won't be able to swap chains. Necklace clasps at 21"; the pendant drops an additional 2". The plump little clip on earrings are 1 1/4" long. Signed (c)Celebrity NY on back of pendant and CELEBRITY on earring clips. Excellent, near mint condition. $38

Charel Charel is best known for Art Moderne Lucite thermoset jewelry of the 1950's. In my opinion, most jewelry marked Charel is is as well made as Lisner jewelry but much more scarce.

Cini ~ Boston Mass. firm founded by Guglielmo Cini in 1922. Cini was a maker of sterling and gold jewely. Cini jewelry reflects great metal craftsmanship.

Circa 1960s. From Cini's popular astrology series comes this sterling Taurus the Bull, representing birthdays falling between April 21 and May 21.  The metal work that makes Cini jewelry distinctive can be observed in this brooch, with the rippling scalloped skin of the body to the fantastical shape of a bull with curling tail and ornate stinger like appendage instead of hind legs. This is the larger version measuring 2" x 2; and weighing 17 grams.. Marked STERLING (c)Cini, the brooch has not been polished and is in Excellent condition.  $65

This lovely vintage necklace could have been produced by Craft anytime between the 1960s and 1980s. The remarkable 2" x 2" gold tone butterfly pendant has pave wings with black stone accents, a center bezel set with another diamante crystal; the body is a faux pearl drop. The herringbone chain is is 15 1/2" by measure, but the butterfly dips in somewhat, drawing attention to your décolletage and creating more room; so this probably fits like a 16" necklace. Signed CRAFT(c) on the reverse, this necklace is in Very Good condition, with three tiny black stones having glue residue you need a loupe or strong reading glasses to notice. The crystal rhinestone are sparkly and clean, the faux pearl is undamaged, and the gold tone finish is unmarred. A beautiful Craft butterfly necklace! $55
