Avon has been in business since 1886, but started producing costume jewelry in the early 1960s. Quality varies, but there are many well made, sought after pieces, and these are often featured in costume jewelry books. Many designers created jewelry for Avon, including Kenneth Lane, Elizabeth Taylor, Jose' Barrera, and Nina Ricci .

Book Piece! Reverse	Beautiful 1976 'Romanesque' AVON Silvertone Filigree Cross An example of the best in Avon jewelry featured in several books, this pendant is one of the most popular and beloved pieces of Avon jewelry. My mother had one of these, and I have my own and wear it occasionally. Beautiful multi-colored glass navette cabs imitate different colors of gemstones--faux lapis, jade, turquoise and coral. The round center stone imitates hematite very effectively. The setting is a remarkable antiqued beaded filigree openwork which includes heart-shaped motifs. Well made with a good weight, the dimensions of the cross is 3" long x 2" wide, and is suspended from a textured 23 1/2" textured link chain with spring-ring clasp. Signed Avon in back. Excellent condition. $24

Reverse	Avon Marcasite Bow Pin After taking a good look at this Avon pin with a 5x loupe, these look like real marcasites. I've heard this pin referred to as faux marcasite, but if they are they are awfully good. Avon does come out with some really nice things, and this pin is one of them. The pin is 2" wide and 1 1/2" long and includes a crystal rhinestone in the center along with a dangling emerald green teardrop. Excellent condition. $24

Another View Reverse	*Elizabeth Taylor for Avon Heart of Hollywood* Demi Parure** The fabulous Heart of Hollywood collection by Elizabeth Taylor for Avon is a 1994 creation. We have for you a very large brooch with both art deco and retro design elements. The openwork heart is a burnished gold colored metal, smooth with a pearly swirly enamel, laden with faux pearls & glinting with white (clear) rhinestones. In the center is a lovely bluish faux opal. This is a BIG set. Dimensions of the brooch are 2 3/4" tall x 2 5/8" wide. Matching clip back earrings are approximately 1-1/2"x 1 1/2". All pieces are signed with E in fancy script surrounded by block letters ELIZABETH TAYLOR and AVON. Invest and enjoy in the legendary Elizabeth Taylor Heart of Hollywood Set. Excellent condition. $145.

Reverse, with chain.	*Gorgeous Book Piece Avon Abbey Pendant* Cross** Circa 1970. This vintage cross, an Avon favorite, is a vintage book piece featured in page Judith Miller's Collectibles Price Guide 2007, page 249. The lovely raised and textured gold tone renaissance design is irresistible with it's winking ruby-red glass cabochon. The cross measures 2 7/8" long not counting the bail, which add an extra 1/2" to the drop. The width of the cross is 1 7/8". It hangs on a double textured link chain of 20". Signed in back, Avon(c). Excellent condition. A lovely large cross pendant by Avon! $28


Reverse	Avon Book Piece Blue & Green Enamel Paisley Earrings For pierced ears. The pink version of these earrings are featured on page 140 of Judith Miller's COSTUME JEWELRY. The openwork gold tone paisley motif earrings are very collectible and will look gorgeous on, with the three shades from turquoise blue to turquoise green to complement bright eyes. These 80's delights are decorated with golden enamel and beading around the openwork. Att 1 1/2 by nearly 1" the jewels are substantial and surprisingly heavy for their size, an example of some of Avon's finest. Signed (c)AVON in back and equipped with studs for pierced ears, the jewels are in Excellent, clean condition; in fact, I doubt they've ever been worn. $18

Full View with Chain Reverse	Avon Christmas Cross One of the prettiest of Avon's crosses, the Christmas cross looks almost like it belongs in a church. Lovely gold tone openwork supports clear jelly blue and green cabs. The reces between lines of gold tone are filled with deep red enamel. Comes with original 30" chain. Cross itself measures 2 5/8" tall x 2 1/4" wide. Both cross and chain are signed Avon and are in Excellent condition. $24

Side View	*Vintage Avon Summer Lights* Wide Multicolor Lucite Stretch Bangle** Turn you summer outfits from plain to snazzy with this bangle. Nobody did thermoset like Avon. Once you've handled some of their older thermoset pieces, it's clear the quality is as high as Lisner and Kramer thermoset jewelry. Thick thermoset wave pieces are seamless Lucite with saturated color, some swirly. Separate white pieces are lodged between two by two arrangements in each bright color--true RED, banana yellow, royal blue and pure color- crayon green (which, for some strange reason, looks light blue inn the Side view scan). The bangle is 1 3/8" wide and heavy for it's size. If your wrist is small to medium, this one will fit perfectly. If you have a large wrist, this bangle won't fit you--yes it stretches, but it will squeeze like the dickens if you wear the wrong size.Excellent condition. This will arrive in the original box, but the box is in poor condition, so the price is no higher than it would be without the box. A bargain at $28.

Size 7 View Box	Elizabeth Taylor Gilded Age Faux Ruby Cherub Angel Ring This is beautiful ring is from Elizabeth Taylor AVON Gilded Age Collection. A faux distressed ruby can is set within beautifully fashioned 1" ornate setting, with golden metal cameo cherub angels holding up the jewel. The faux ruby is more carnelian colored and not quite as red as faux rubies usually are, but maybe that's what is meant by "distressed ruby." The ring is size 7, in never worn, unused condition. Comes complete in original purple box with purple tissue, soft black drawstring bag, and card. This ring is substantial and absolutely lovely! Would make a marvelous gift. Like New condition. $38


Reverse Another View	Avon Winter Pastels Pink Thermoset Shells Necklace SOLD One of the better quality necklaces I've seen by Avon, with thermoset shells (or leaves) looking good enough to eat, like pink thin mints! The individual shells are actually beads and are strung together with silk in an overlapping style, ending in a J-hook and chain. The shells , in three different shades of pink--very pale, medium and dusky pink--are made of good molded Lucite thermoset, semitransparent and very similar to moonglow. The shells make a rich, delicious sound when they click together. The necklace clasps at a maximum of 20", and is 1 1/4" wide. This beauty, signed Avon, is in excellent, clean condition.
