Mazer / Jomaz ~ Joseph & Lincoln Mazer, brothers, founded in the late 1920s and lasted until the late 1970s. Earlier pieces are marked Mazer, and later pieces are marked Jomaz. The jewelry is high in quality.

Miracle Scottish Pebble Talisman Sword Brooch on Card

Here's a unique statement brooch than can be worn to proclaim your celtic heritage, would make a nice gift for both men & women. In fact, my husband collects these and pins them to his hat; they can also be used as tie clasps. Brooches by Miracle are always great investments, and this one comes on it's original plaid card with a statement on the origin of talisman brooches. The brooch is a bit over 3" long with a 1" medallion in the center, decorated with a glass faux agate. Signed MIRACLE just on the rim of the medallion, so it's hard to find, but it's there. The card is in fair condition, the brooch is Excellent. $45

Circa 1960. This golden pin is just beautifully made, with brushed goldtone body, polished golden hoofs, textured horns, adorable feathery tail and garnet rhinestone eyes. The leaping position IDs this pin as a masterpiece in vintage costume jewelry. Most Monet jewelry is also washed in 14k gold; we haven't tested  yet, but will shortly. The little pin is heavy for its size, as most Monet jewelry. On the diagonal, from the tip of the farthest horn to the lowest hoof is 2 1/8". Signed MONET(c), this jewel is in excellent condition. $18

Circa 1980s. When it's time to feel like a wealthy ingénue, simply don this tasteful necklace with the look of real gemstones. Monet knew how to do it with this simple yet spectacular necklace of gold plated links containing large blue art glass faux gemstone cabs; look closely at the detailed picture to see the depth of the blue and the little gemlike striations within. The pretty bezel set blue jewels, in graduated sizes, alternate with faux champagne half pearls and jet black cabs. Like most Monet jewelry, this is high in quality with good weight-- a jewel you can really wear nearly every day to evening with nearly every thing. . The blue glass gemstones alternate in size, giving the necklace a rich, chunky look. The necklace is adjustable for size, and will clasp with hook and chain at a maximum of 17" and is 5/8" at the widest links. Excellent condition. $38

The 3/4" wide Lucite thermoset beads in the necklace have six sides and are fashioned with Egyptian style step patterns. The colors, which were hard to scan, are dark red (not orange!)--somewhat darker than lipstick red--and jet black. Smaller goldtone and jet black beads accent. This looks like an Art Deco revival piece and has both the MONET hang tag and also a small lobster clasp with "Pat. Pend." and "Monet." The necklace is 34" long and is well made, heavy for it's size. I have had my own which I have worn for years--you might not think it, but the colors go with just about everything, and strike a jazzy spark to your outfit. Excellent condition. $30

M&S  M. & S. Manufacturing Company also produced designs as Phyllis and Scitarelli.  Most jewels found today seem to be from that window in the late 1940s and early '50s that produced razzle-dazzle but delicate retro designs, many gold filled, and also sterling jewels, especially those marked Phyllis. . The Scitarelli signature is sometimes on amazing figural jewels, most very hard to find.

This vintage gold tone rhinestone man pin offers a beautiful gold tone finish, sleeves of crystal prong set stones, an ice blue unfoiled prong set oval rhinestone  tummy, pink chaton hands and dark sapphire blue teardrop feet. He measures approximately 1-1/4" by 2" in length. Backing is signed "SCITARELLI. " Excellent condition. $45

Napier Napier has been in business since the 19th century, and has always produced high quality costume jewelry. But the early Napier is very hard to find and usually commands high prices. Pat. Pending pieces made prior to 1955 are more affordable and greatly treasured. Napier closed in 1999.

Here is a pristine beauty of a Maltese Cross, filled with invisibly set rhinestones in amethyst, light topaz, ruby and emerald colors. The tiered golden cross setting offers both smooth and textured surfaces, a winning combination. This 2" x 2" jewel is signed in back (c)Napier in script. Excellent condition. $45

Braids are as old as the history of man. Whether for the hair, garments or ornaments, they've been worn for comfort and style. As jewelry ornaments, mesh braids have remained every popular  from ancient Egypt  to today's jewels. Here is an early 1950s Napier demi that showcases the timeless beauty and elegance of the braid. This  set consists of an artfully braided gilt mesh necklace and lovely pair of matching clip on earrings. 


The necklace is simply beautiful, with a straightforward but masterful rendition of the braid. It measures 7/8" wide, with the braided mesh forming a flat collar around the neck. Medium gold in color, like Russian gold-plated pieces, and flexible. It has a short extension chain and a hook clasp. Total length is about 16 1/4". At the center of the braid necklace is a faux pearl. 
The matching earrings, also centered with faux pearls, are fastened with a wire "butterfly" clip. 
All the pieces are marked Napier in block letters with no copyright marks. The earrings are also marked Pat. Pend. All pieces are in Excellent condition, with very little, if any, wear. $85

This beautifully made, molded glass strawberry just glows heliotrope or iris colors, alternating purple & blues, depending on movement and light. Enchased in gold tone leaves both on top and hanging down from the back, I have to say this Napier forbidden fruit is nicer than anything I've seen from Austria. Made in the 1950's, this 1 7/8" x 1 1/2" beauty in signed with the older NAPIER(c) signature. It is in Excellent condition. $55

What an unusual and beautiful find. I generally do not expect to find these old white enamel jewels in top condition, but this Napier set is an exception. Plus, have you ever seen it before? I have never come across another. Circa early to mid 1950's, the lacy white filigree is delightful background for the coral colored ball beads against gold tone stamens. There are two brooches, the big floral 3 1/4" on all sides, rising in a domed, layered shape. The 2 1/4" two-petal brooch is also layered, one petal overlapping another. The matching clip-on earrings represent buds; even with their lacy buds folded beneath, they are still 1 1/2" long. Imagine wearing this set with a new outfit to a Sunday picnic or garden party. The condition is as absolutely pristine. Only the earrings are signed, NAPIER PAT. PEND. in block letters on the gold tone clips. No copyright mark. $65

New England Glass Works Thanks to Dotty & Pat at Illusion Jewels, we have learned that the mysterious mark of NE or N/E with a chalice, or sometimes just the chalice, is the mark for costume jewelry by New England Glass Works, who made these jewels during the 1920's and 1930's, eventually becoming Rice-Weiner.

Here is a rare dress clip from New England Glass Works, a company that made, besides world famous glassware, a line of jewelry during the 1930s. Here is a wonderful rare example, with gem colored glass cabochons- coral, turquoise, jade and dark lapis blue--set in an an antiqued silvertone beaded openwork setting. The brass hinged clip attachment is sturdy and tight. This 2 1/2" x 1 3/4" jewel is in Very Good condition, with no chips or cracks in the glass, or other problems. Signed in in back with their mark, NE inside a chalice. $60

This well made and colorful 1930s clip gleams with rich pink and sapphire blue round cabs at top and bottom, along with large oval sapphire blue, emerald green and ruby red rhinestones in serrated bezels. These are accented by small multicolor chatons still sparkling in elaborate dark metal filigree. The beaded floral openwork design is convex, rising in a partial dome above the clip mechanism. This wonderful old jewel is 1 3/4" tall and 1 1/2" wide. Marked N/E in a chalice, the signature of New England Glass Company jewels. Excellent condition! $48.

Ora Ora is the trademark of Agnini & Singer, who went into business in 1921. However, the Ora mark was not used on jewelry until 1951. 

Park Lane ~ Park Lane jewelry has been in business since 1948. Older pieces in top condition are not only beautiful but also  great investments. Many sets are top quality, with gold plating, heavy, and always stylish.

This set is one of Park Lane's earlier lines, probably from the 1950s, offering gorgeous openwork leaves from which descend a deluge of multicolor bead "grapes." The beads are like faux pearls, a lovely pastel combination of mint green, pink, lavender, pale yellow & blue. Note the wonderful beaded openwork design on the leaves of both pendant and clip-on earrings. The pendant is also a brooch, so you can remove the chain & switch  a brooch The earrings drop; the brooch/pendant, from top of leaf to lowest dangling bead measures 3 1/2". All pieces are signed Park Lane and are in Excellent condition. $68
