Whiting & Davis
Hand Painted Porcelain Portrait Bangle Bracelet
Circa 1960. No costume luxury was spared when Whiting and Davis made their famous hinged bangles. Here's a fantastic Victorian Revival piece, a porcelain painting imported from Limoges France, the famous Lady in Blue. The lady is hand painted over a transfer, giving an essential pearled look to her hair decoration and collar. How beautiful. The oval porcelain is encased in a silvertone bezel among intricate silvertone leaves, bows, and other openwork folderol which extends to the side of the bangle. This bracelet is signed Whiting & Davis Mesh Bags over the inside hinge, and you also get the Limoges signature in gold on the back of the porcelain. The bracelet measures 1 1/2" wide at the portrait and
1/2" in back. The jewel fits a small to small-medium wrist without
pinching; it's just a bit too tight on my regular medium wrist. Inner diameter
is 2" x 2 1/4". Comes complete with safety chain. Excellent condition.
Such a Highly collectible can become an heirloom in your family. $145 |

| Reverse Carved Glass Intaglio
Oriental Bookchain Bracelet Set
For an exotic look, especially with freshly polished nails (red?) this glass intaglio bracelet is a top choice. The silvertone openwork track of book chain findings support the glass encased figural intaglio plaques of a golden oriental goddess. Oriental motifs were popular in costume jewelry from the '30s through the '50's, and this one is nicely detailed in gold tone against a jet black background. The entire set consists of the bracelet, along with 1 1/8" matching pendant on 17" silvertone chain, and a set of 1 1/2" ornately framed clip on earrings. Everything is in Excellent condition, with crystal clear intaglios and no noticeable finish wear.$78

Hand
Painted Porcelain Book Chain Bracelet
Unique and rare, this great Victorian Revival bracelet will make wonderful wear for an especially feminine look, with a lawn gown for old fashioned beauty, or to dress up blue jeans and a jacket with a dash of femme! The golden book chain style setting offers elongated porcelain ovals, each hand painted with wild pink roses, blue forget-me-nots and green foliage against a background of pink and yellow glazes. The brush marks and slight differences in each panel, alternating with smaller round coronet set hand painted cabs, shows that each was painstakingly done by an artisan. The findings and overall construction of this beauty appears to date to the 1950s, and I suspect the bracelet is a Japanese import, though there are no markings. But I have seen enough hand painted china from this era out of Japan--usually beads-- to justify my guess. The bracelet is 1 5/8" wide and fastens at 7 1/8" with a wide foldover clasp. Condition is Very Good+. Enjoy this beautiful hand painted porcelain bracelet! $60

Harry
Iskin Retro Gold Filled Emerald Green Rhinestone Bracelet & Brooch
This delightful floral set is stacked with double layers of flowers centered with emerald green rhinestones. The bracelet offers those double flower links riveted onto a double circle finding. The central flower is finished in rose gold, the smaller in yellow gold. The bracelet, which is 1 1/8" wide at the center, fastens with an old thumbless spring ring clasp at 7". The brooch, with it's ribbon curls, wide leaf fronds and vines--also holding emerald green stones-- is finished in both yellow gold and rose gold .The brooch is 3" tall x 2 1/2" wide. Although none of these jewels are marked as sterling, our tests reveal the base metal is 500-800 silver. This is why we often find tarnish on retro pieces that are not marked sterling; many of them are simply less than 925 silver. The brooch is marked with the standard HI mark and the terms 1/20th 10k. These jewels are in Very Good+ condition, with minor tarnish spots on back. A gorgeous 70-year-old Harry Iskin WWII set still in top condition! $78
